Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Stonefield Martinez Epoxy Flooring website and any estimate, scheduling or service you get from us. By using the site, calling us or booking work, you agree to them.

If a written contract or signed estimate for your job says something different from these terms, the contract wins for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work through it.

What we do

Stonefield Martinez Epoxy Flooring is a flooring contractor based in Martinez, CA. We install and repair concrete floor systems for homes and businesses in Martinez and the cities around it. That work includes epoxy and polyaspartic coatings, polished and stained concrete, overlays, sealing, surface preparation and floor removal.

The services and cities listed on our home page and service pages describe the work we generally offer. They aren't a promise that we'll take on every job, because some floors need a closer look before we know what will work. You can read more about our crew on our About page.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, including the size of the area, the condition of the concrete, the coating or finish you choose and how much prep the slab needs.

Concrete can hide problems until it's ground or stripped, such as moisture coming up through the slab, deep cracks or old coatings that won't come off cleanly. If we find something like that, we'll stop, explain what we found and agree on any change in price or scope with you in writing before we keep going.

Prices on an estimate are good for the time stated on it. After that, material costs may change and we may need to update the price.

Scheduling, delays and cancellation

We'll give you a start date and an expected length for the job when you book. Coatings and sealers need the right temperature, humidity and slab dryness to bond and cure, so weather, moisture in the concrete or a late material delivery can push the schedule. When that happens, we'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new date with you.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please call us at (925) 231-8429 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started prep, you may owe for that work and those materials as your contract states. Any cancellation rights California law gives you on a home improvement contract still apply.

Payment

Your contract or signed estimate sets out what's due and when, including any deposit and the final payment. Any deposit or progress payment will follow California law for contractors.

Final payment is due when the work is done as described in your contract. If a payment is late, we may pause further work until the account is brought current.

Your part of the job

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to clear out vehicles, furniture and stored items before we arrive, unless we've agreed in writing to move them. If you know of past leaks, cracks or old coatings on the floor, please tell us during the estimate, because they change how we prep the slab.

New floors need time to cure before people walk on them and before cars park on them. We'll tell you how long to stay off the floor for your job, and damage caused by using it early isn't covered by our work.

Warranties and disclaimers

Any warranty on our work will be written into your contract, including what it covers and for how long. Product warranties come from the makers of the coatings and materials we use and follow their terms.

Outside of a written warranty and any warranty required by law, our work and this website are provided as they are. We don't cover normal wear, hot tire pickup from tires that haven't cooled, chemical spills left standing, cracks that move after the job, or damage from moisture or settling in the slab that we couldn't have found during prep.

The information on this website is general. It isn't advice for your particular floor, and it may not always be complete or current.

Limitation of liability

Stonefield Martinez Epoxy Flooring is licensed and fully insured. To the extent California law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of a space, lost business or lost profits, unless the law says otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law.

Resolving a problem

If something about your floor or our service isn't right, call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly when we can come look at the floor together.

If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. Either of us can still bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case will be brought in the state courts of California in the county where the work was done.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes won't affect a contract you've already signed unless we both agree to them in writing.
